Mauna Kea Panorama

PTViewer

Mauna Kea, at 13,796', is the highest point in the state of Hawaii. If you count its height above local land level (granted, that's the bottom of the Pacific Ocean), it is also the tallest mountain on the face of the Earth.

Mauna Kea is the easiest of the taller highpoints, thanks to the numerous major astronomical observatories near its summit. You can drive to about a quarter-mile from the summit and it's an easy walk up to the top of the tallest cinder cone.

To navigate within this panorama, click and hold the left mouse button and move it within the panorama window to control panning right, left, up and down. While panning, the "Shift" key will zoom in, and the "Ctrl" key will zoom out.
